The 'Survivor' finale starts at 7 p.m. Central time Wednesday on CBS.
Jonathan Young's strength and fitness have been assets on "Survivor," but they also have made him a target. Robert Voets/CBS Entertainment 2021 CBS Broadcasting, Inc. All Rights Reserved. When the season finale of “Survivor” concludes Wednesday night, will Jonathan Young of Gulf Shores be standing tall as the winner?
When strength didn’t save him, luck did. On at least two occasions when it looked like he was on his way out, competitors put together power plays targeting other people. The thinking seemed to be that while Jonathan was clearly a rival, he was a rival who’d be easy to get rid of later, after more dangerous people were handled.
More negotiating and another immunity challenge will determine the Final Three, but in the Season 41 finale this was accomplished without a tribal council. The immunity winner made it; the other two were determined partly by the immunity winner, who got to pick a friend, and partly by a fire-making challenge. The Final Three then made their cases to the jury of previously eliminated players, which voted. This is the one time in “Survivor” where you want people to vote for you.
