SURIGAO CITY – All roads lead to the famous day-long ethnic dancing 39th Bonok-Bonok Maradjao Karadjao Festival in this city on Friday, September 9.
th The police, military, and traffic enforcers are all ready to secure the event.
Tourism officials led by Department of Tourism -13 Director Ivonnie B. Dumadag already noted the influx of tourists eager to watch the festival celebrated through a colorful street dance competition participated in by 31 barangays in the Caraga region. Originating from the Mamanwas, early settlers here, the festival is also a tribute to Saint Nicholas de Tolentino, this city’s patron saint, who feast day is September 10.
“The performers of the Bonok-Bonok Festival are a sight to behold, and the beautiful and unique street dancers of Bonok-Bonok will leave you speechless with their incredible and magnificent talent and extraordinary performances and while also seeing their amazing beauty,” DOT-13 Tourism Operations Officer Kylee Doreene Q. Plaza also said.
