PETALING JAYA: Almost everyone in the Klang Valley eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine has received at least one dose through Operation Surge Capacity, which ended on Sunday (Aug 1).

According to data from the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force , 96.7% of the adult population have received at least one dose of the vaccine, with 37.5% fully vaccinated.

“They are probably those who cancelled or could not make it to their earlier appointment,” Khairy told the weekly CITF joint press conference on Monday . Following the end of the operation, Khairy said the task force would now focus on efforts to “mop up” the outliers and get those who have not registered or cancelled their appointment vaccinated.

Khairy said the task force would next focus on vaccine distribution to all states nationwide according to two criteria - pandemic control and vaccination rate among the people. Khairy reminded the public that walk-in vaccinations at the nine PPVs in the Klang Valley are only meant for those who live here.
