Suns point guard Chris Paul (sore right heel) and forward Torrey Craig (strained right groin) are questionable for Wednesday's game vs. Celtics.
Paul and Craig are both listed as questionable for Wednesday’s 8 p.m. showdown on ESPN between the top team in each conference.
“We hope, we don’t know yet,” Suns coach Monty Williams said after Monday’s loss. “I don’t want to put anything on that. We hope that those guys are getting closer. Are they going to play? I don’t know. I can’t even speculate on that right now, but we’ll find out more, get more information as we head home and evaluate everything.”
Paul has missed 14 consecutive games since grabbing at his right heel Nov. 7 at Philadelphia trying to get around a screen being set by 76ers big Paul Reed. The Suns are 9-5 in those game, won six in a row during that stretch, but have dropped two of their last three. Craig has been sidelined for Phoenix’s last three games. The Suns blew a double-digit lead in a one-point loss to sub .500 Houston, blasted San Antonio, 133-95, Sunday afternoon in the first of a road back-to-back, but got crushed Monday night by the Mavericks.
Phoenix was also without backup two-way point guard Duane Washington Jr. with a left hip muscle strain. He’s listed out for Wednesday’s game."Another heavy hitter. I'm looking forward to that one."
