Mamelodi Sundowns advanced to the semi-finals of the African Football League (AFL) despite their 0-0 draw with Petro de Luanda on Tuesday.
The match at Loftus Versveld Stadium needed to be managed by Sundowns as they held a healthy 2-0 lead from the first leg in Angola.
And they did just that, holding Petro de Luanda to a draw and advancing on a 2-0 aggregate scoreline to join Al Ahly in the semis. Marcelo Allende and Thapelo Morena were the scorers for Sundowns in Angola, and it was always going to be difficult for Petro to come back.
