Summer Creek used pitching and hitting to make a quick berth to the second round of the playoffs.
A Mavs runner appears to elude the tag attempt of a Summer Creek infielder. But the runner slid past the bag and the Bulldog took advantage of his second chance, making the tag.HOUSTON - Longtime Pasadena Memorial High School head baseball coach Terry Garza was hoping for something a little more exciting for his final time on a diamond.
"They're a very good hitting team. They hit one through nine. The one, two and three-hole hitters are very good. Even when you have them on the ropes, they battle. They were good but we added on some mistakes. When you do that, it's just not a good recipe," Garza said. Four Bulldogs drove in runs and that list was led by the duo of Cullen Krebs and William Hill, who each drove in two. Misael Del Villar, Ryan LaBorde and Jordan Donovan had the remaining RBIs.
