There is a police activity happening in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.A suburban mayor was nearly shot when his security detail attempted to intervene in a robbery in Chicago'sThe incident took place around 2 p.m. in the 750 block West North Avenue.According to sources, the mayor was leaving the Apple store with his security detail when they noticed another customer being robbed. The security detail attempted to intervene and the armed robber fired shots at them.
The suspect got into a black SUV and fled the scene, sources said. As the suspect drove away, the security detail shot out the back window of the vehicle.
