A substitute teacher who worked in the metro area is arrested on suspicion of uploading child pornography, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.
Jose Tomayo, 25, is being investigated for sexual exploitation of children, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Tomayo worked as a substitute teacher for Littleton Public Schools in the 2021-2022 school year, and with Englewood Public Schools as a substitute teacher and a paraprofessional during the 2020-2021 school year, the release said. An investigation was prompted by a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children , the sheriff’s office said, when someone uploaded suspected child pornography through the social media platform Snapchat using the screen name freakygurls420.
Investigators determined that the suspect lived in Centennial and worked as a substitute teacher for Littleton Public Schools, the release said. After working with the school districts, investigators “have no reason to believe any victims were students of either district.”
