League of Ireland legend and Mirror Sport columnist Stuart Byrne has the final word every Friday

All League of Ireland fans should unite and march to Leinster House for a peaceful protest against the lack of Government funding for Irish football.

Irish football is looking for a similar amount to transform the game here and drag it up to a certain standard after decades of neglect. We’ve an exchequer surplus of around €8 billion in this country and we’ve been loaded with cash for the last decade. And I believe a peaceful protest at Leinster House would be a good starting point for the entire League of Ireland community. We don’t support other clubs, in fact we revel in their misery. But we should break the rules this one time.

If grounds are not brought up to speed, there’s going to be a serious accident one day and this has to be addressed immediately.I was giddy last night, knowing there was only one more sleep before a glass of red wine. But Bradley is already in the shop window after winning four leagues in-a-row. What club wouldn’t want to speak to him!
