Authorities in Kunak , Sabah , are awaiting the final report to determine the cause of death of an elderly woman who was allegedly attacked by a pack of stray dogs . Kunak district officer Majaran Osman stated that local authorities have been actively working to manage the stray dog population, having relocated approximately 250 dogs in 2024. \Osman emphasized that their approach is guided by the Animal Welfare Act, requiring them to prioritize responsible action.
He added that officials are still investigating whether the woman died as a direct result of the dog attack or if other factors contributed to her death before the dogs gathered around her. \The victim's body has been released to her family following a post-mortem examination, and authorities are anticipating confirmation regarding the precise cause of death.
