How Strange New Worlds’ Star Trek Crossover Happened On Star Trek Day 2022, Strange New Worlds' co-showrunner Henry Alonso Myers said the idea for the crossover with Lower Decks came from SNW writer David Reed, who also wrote for The Boys, which stars Jack Quaid. Both Strange New Worlds and The Boys film in Toronto, and Reed and Quaid joked about Boimler coming aboard the Enterprise.
