Flooding and a few tornadoes are possible in the Southeast while heavy rain, strong winds and coastal flooding spread into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
A classic spring storm system is rolling across the eastern United States, bringing an assortment of inclement weather. Severe thunderstorms are possible Saturday over the Southeast, with possible tornadoes, strong winds and flooding. In the Northeast, heavy rain, coastal flooding and mountain snow are expected.
The storm system produced more than a dozen reports of severe weather across the South Friday into early Saturday, including two tornadoes. One tornado was reported in south central Georgia at around 8:30 a.m. Saturday while a second twister was indicated by radar just before 4 a.m. in southeast Alabama.

Much of the rain is expected to fall Saturday and Saturday night in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic before reaching New England on Saturday night into Sunday.
