In three days, a guaranteed income program will start sending $500 payments to recipients in El Monte, California, every month.
Recipients of this program will receive their payments on a debit card at the start of every month. The cards in question were distributed to participants at El Monte City Hall during an in-person presentation about the program and how to use the card.While payments for this program will typically be issued on the first of a month, the monthly payment will be issued on the Friday before the turn of the month when a month starts on a Saturday or Sunday.
In total, this program will last a year, giving recipients a total of 12 payments. The final payment will be issued on May 31, 2024.Applications for this program opened on March 27, and they remained open for a little less than three weeks. The application window closed on April 15. The recipients of this guaranteed income program were selected by April 26.
