Stills is a new photo licensing platform that offers a curated selection of photos that promise to be far and away better than the standard stock images.
. The first two are likely the brands photographers and videographers are most familiar with and were launched as very different takes on the licensing space. FM says that Stills was created with that same mentality.
“Designers are tired of spending their valuable time sifting through lackluster photos. Stills is the answer,” FM CEO Daniel McCarthy says. “Great, authentic photography is central to great design. But typical stock imagery often doesn’t hit the mark when your work needs to represent you as a creative, and compromising your vision is not an option. As a society, we’re inundated with imagery, but there’s still a huge gap in the market.
The company says that it is partnering with “professional, in-demand commercial photographers” instead of the typical stock photographers that supply the major stock photo sites and, additionally, says it is paying above-average rates. Notably, Stills did not reveal what those rates are.
