CAPE TOWN - Stellenbosch University has been accused of endangering students' lives, after allegedly forcing ill students to get COVID-19 vaccines.
Two weeks ago a second-year medical student from KwaZulu-Natal passed away after contracting the coronavirus.A guardian, Thando Ngwenya, said on Saturday that the university called in health officials and forced recovering students to receive the vaccine. "The university sent government people to vaccinate the kids and they forced them to be vaccinated. They were forced to be vaccinated. They said, no, they can't be vaccinated and they forced them. Now three kids were sent to hospital critically ill, one of them almost died."
Since then, three have reportedly been admitted at hospital with COVID-19 and vaccine-related complications. A parent's meeting was held on Monday as ill students have been left traumatised by the series of events."She was not taken care of, thank God that she got help from her doctor. He sent paramedics quickly so now at least she's picking up this morning. Stellenbosch University must be held responsible for forcing the kids to be vaccinated while they were sick with COVID-19."
