1,000+ yard sophomore season incoming? 👀 With the expected growth of George Pickens and Kenny Pickett headed into year 2, Pickens’ numbers could skyrocket. HereWeGo
The Pittsburgh Steelers are expecting to field a more effective offense in 2023. One man that could help them achieve that goal is sophomore. Pickens possesses the opportunity and every trait necessary to experience a breakout campaign—he can record more than 1,000 receiving yards next season.
The No. 52 overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, Pickens hit the ground running in Pittsburgh. The former Georgia standout appeared in all 17 regular-season contests with 12 starts. He totaled 52 receptions for 801 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Pickens averaged a chain-moving 15.4 yards per reception. Pittsburgh’s quarterbacks enjoyed a passer rating of 109.3 when targeting Pickens, per Pro Football Focus. Pickens was a huge focal point of the offense, yet his debut season somehow feels like a bit of a missed opportunity.
Pickens immediately earned the trust of Mike Tomlin and his coaching staff. Pickens played 882 total offensive snaps with a minimum weekly snap share of 63% or greater.
