KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 — Malaysia’s wholesale and retail trade sales increased by 15.2 per cent year-on-year to register RM128.0 billion in April 2022, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia .
“Wholesale trade also expanded 11.5 per cent or RM6.1 billion to RM59.0 billion. Within the same period, motor vehicles surged 11.3 per cent or RM1.6 billion to RM15.4 billion. On a month-on-month comparison , he said the sales value of wholesale and retail trade increased by 3.4 per cent, sales of retail trade sub-sector went up 7.4 per cent, and the wholesale trade sub-sector expanded by 3.1 per cent.
“The index of retail sale over the internet for April 2022 recorded a growth of 24.9 per cent y-o-y . For the seasonally adjusted value index, it grew 11.6 per cent from the previous month,” he said.
