In a statement today, chief statistician Datuk Seri Mohd Uzir Mahidin said the increase in the sales value marked a positive y-o-y trend for the third consecutive month, which was primarily driven by a 9.6 per cent growth in non-metallic mineral products, basic metal and fabricated metal products. Mohd Uzir said the sales value of export-oriented industries, which accounted for 70.4 per cent of total sales, dropped marginally by 0.2 per cent in March 2024, following a larger decline of 1.7 per cent in the preceding month.
