ALOR SETAR: Three cases of suspected identity theft have been detected, with voters claiming their names were used by others in the Kedah state election.
Kedah police chief Comm Datuk Fisol Salleh said as of 2pm on Saturday , police have received three such reports from the public.
"In the first case, a woman came to vote at a school in Kulim at about 8.50am and was told she had been marked as having voted. "She believed that her name was stolen and misused by irresponsible persons," he said in a statement. Comm Fisol said the second case, also in Kulim, involved a male voter while the third, in Kuala Muda, involved another woman.Related stories:
