Pierce was spectacular in his rookie season. He rushed for 939 yards in 13 games and four touchdowns.Adding Devin Singletary was a huge move. He can spell Pierce on third-down situations or when he’s tired. They have different running styles. Pierce is more of a power back, who will run you over. While Singletary is an elusive back.

Ryans expects to bring out his strengths.Not only have the Texans brought back their primary cornerbacks, but they also signed veteran Shaquill Griffin late in free agency. Griffin was named to the Pro Bowl in 2019 and provides depth.Kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn had one of the best seasons of his career in 2022, making 29 of his 31 field goal attempts.

“Juice has done a great job with just being consistent in there – seems like a vet already with the consistency that he operates at,” Ryans said. But depth could potentially be an issue if there is an injury. The Texans currently have two backup tackles in Charlie Heck and Austin Deculus. But none after that.
After giving up a league-worst 170.2 yards rushing per game on the ground, the Texans should be better on the defensive line.
