Started in 2013, the Metro Classic is bigger and better in 2022
The Metro Classic is back this season, with the first session set for Jan. 13 at Cure Insurance Arena in Trenton.When the first Metro Classic was held in 2013, there were six games over two days at Roselle Catholic.

What the Metro does is bring the best local teams to play against national teams.” Montverde, No. 1 in the latest ESPN Top 25, is directed by former St. Patrick’s coach Kevin Boyle. Camden is coached by former NBA standout Rick Brunson and is No. 3 in the ESPN rankings and No. 1 according to MaxPreps.
“I have a lot of respect for Kevin Boyle; I watched him coach at St. Pat’s. They play hard and are talented 1 through 12. It will be a good test for us; to show us where we’re at in terms of individually and as a team.” 12 juniors among the ESPN 60, led by top-ranked Wagner of Camden. Also included are No. 5 Mackenzie Mgbako of Gill St. Bernard’s, No. 12 and North Carolina commit Simeon Wilcher of Roselle Catholic and No. 20 Akil Watson of Roselle Catholic.
