New AI images from artist digiguru reveal what a hypothetical Wes Anderson-directed Star Wars movie could look like... and it's pretty cool.
New AI art reveals what a Star Wars movie would look like if acclaimed filmmaker Wes Anderson directed it. Beginning with Bottle Rocket in 1996, the director began a prestigious career that led to him being described by critics as an auteur with a distinctive and instantly recognizable style. Anderson has established himself as a unique force in the modern filmmaking industry with a filmography including The Royal Tenenbaums, Moonrise Kingdom, and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Following digiguru's recognition by Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo for his Wes Anderson-inspired Avengers AI art, the artist reveals what a Star Wars movie would look like if Anderson tackled the science-fiction fantasy franchise. Using the robust AI rendering tool, Midjourney, digiguru shared four images of muted colors featuring Star Wars-inspired characters positioned in relatively symmetrical arrangements that echo Anderson's aesthetic.
Anderson's new movie is set to have the largest ensemble cast of his past films. Tilda Swinton was the first actor attached to the cast, followed by Adrien Brody, Jeff Goldblum, Bryan Cranston, Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, Tony Revolori, Steve Carell, Maya Hawke, Margot Robbie, Sophia Lillis, and Jason Schwartzman, among many others.
For over two-and-a-half decades, Anderson has delivered unique films in various genres that carry his distinctive aesthetic while still feeling like a new experience. From Rushmore to the stop-motion animated Fantastic Mr. Fox to The French Dispatch, Anderson shows no signs of his creative vigor diminishing. Perhaps with a bit of coaxing, the director can lend his flair to Star Wars to give it an artistic touch that is relatively absent in the billion-dollar franchise.
