C-3PO actor, Anthony Daniels, reveals he’s returning for an upcoming Star Wars project.
Star Wars’ Anthony Daniels has revealed he’s returning to the Star Wars universe for another project. The only actor to be directly involved in every live-action Star Wars film, Daniels first donned C-3P0’s iconic golden suit for the original 1977 Star Wars, later retitled as Star Wars: A New Hope.
Designed by the late Ralph McQuarrie, C-3PO , was based heavily on the robot Maschinenmensch from the 1927 German sci-fi film, Metropolis. While Star Wars creator George Lucas had originally envisioned Threepio with an American accent and had even considered legendary voice actor, Mel Blanc, for the role, he later changed his mind after Daniels tested for the role.
A special intended for release on Disney+, A Droid Story will see Lucasfilm Animation team up with the visual effects boffins at Industrial Light and Magic to offer up unique new opportunities in the realm of Star Wars storytelling.
