Star 'Refuses' To Train In Attempt To Force Man City Move

A Premier League star is reportedly refusing to train in an attempt to force a move to Manchester City before the end of the transfer window.

, Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes is looking to orchestrate a transfer to the Etihad Stadium, having already missed training on Sunday and Monday.

The reigning treble winners have already seen two bids rejected by Wolves as the west Midlands side hold out for their £60 million valuation of the Portuguese international to be met. The Citizens are expected to be without Kevin De Bruyne until at least the beginning of 2024, and are looking to remedy the absence of the Belgian international by luring the Rio de Janeiro-born playmaker to Manchester.

The same report claims that Wolves are, however, not willing to negotiate with Pep Guardiola's side until their valuation of Nunes is met, and are even willing to let the 25-year-old continue his self-imposed exile from the squad until after the transfer window deadline before reintegrating him back into the squad, whereby he will then be fined for his indiscretions.

Manager Gary O'Neil is believed to have an eye on a couple of City midfielders himself in James McAtee and Tommy Doyle, but it is believed that any deal involving the duo would be separate from the potential Nunes sale.The English champions are also said to be keen on Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze after their pursuit of West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta was discarded when the Football Association opened an investigation into alleged betting breaches by the Brazilian international.
