Star Media Group has been honored with two awards at the annual media excellence ceremony hosted by the Housing and Local Government Ministry. The awards recognize achievements in photojournalism and online video categories.
The Star Media Group received two awards at the Housing and Local Government Ministry’s media excellence event. The Star's Mohammad Azman Abdul Ghani won third place in the Photojournalism category with his piece titled 'Smokey End'. The Star's video team won first place in the Online Video category for their entry 'KL Fire and Rescue Department all set to tackle floods with 21 divers on standby'.
Sinar Harian also secured runner-up positions in other categories and won the Social Media Content category. First-place winners receive RM3,000, while second and third-place winners receive RM2,000 and RM1,000 respectively, along with trophies and certificates. Minister Nga Kor Ming highlighted the media’s crucial role in shaping public opinion, enhancing awareness, promoting unity, and contributing to economic and social development
