Stakeholders call for clarity on ‘schools for poor’ plan

Education stakeholders are hesitant about the government’s proposal to build schools for the poor, highlighting worries about funding, manpower and longevity. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, August 11, 2023.

SCHOLARS, teachers, and parents are demanding more details on the government’s proposal to establish special schools for poor children. They said though the initiative is welcome, the government must still explain how it plans to operate such schools and get the budget and teachers.
