SSA targets SABC news head after Ramaphosa audio leak of plan to act against critical media
The SSA last week summoned Moshoeshoe Monare, the SABC’s group executive news, for a top level vetting and security clearance.Barely a week after ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa’s leaked audio on the party’s plans to challenge media houses that report negatively about it, the State Security Agency has made its first move, targeting the head of SABC news.
In a leaked audio recording of its national executive committee meeting a fortnight ago, Ramaphosa was heard saying the ANC would “challenge” any negative publicity ahead of the polls. He said anyone taking potshots at the party would be “fiercely confronted”.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
