To make room for Mamukelashvili , the Spurs released forward Isaiah Roby. Roby appeared in 42 games, averaging 4.1 points and 2.5 rebounds in 18.9 minutes after being claimed off waivers last summer. Mamukelashvili appeared in 24 games with the Bucks this season, averaging 2.4 points and 2.3 rebounds. He also logged 11 G League games with the Wisconsin Herd, posting averages of 19.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 30.6 minutes.
The Spurs worked out Mamukelashvili before the draft after his senior season and interviewed him after his junior season. He made his return Thursday, finishing with two points, four rebounds and five assists in 21 minutes off the bench in the win over Indiana. It was uncertain whether he would return to the starting lineup Saturday against Houston.
