: Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia telah memulakan siasatan berhubung dakwaan kewujudan kartel dalam pengagihan dan perbekalan kontrak baja padi di sebuah pertubuhan di bawah kawalan sebuah kementerian yang dianggarkan bernilai RM1.8 bilion.

Sumber memaklumkan projek di bawah kementerian berkenaan berjumlah RM1.8 billion itu telah dianugerahkan kepada pertubuhan terbabit bagi tempoh 30 bulan bermula tahun 2021 hingga 2023. “Hasil siasatan mendapati pertubuhan ini telah menggunakan dua kaedah untuk memenuhi kontrak kerajaan iaitu membeli terus baja-baja padi daripada lima syarikat pengeluar dan membeli bahan-bahan mentah bagi memproses baja daripada empat syarikat,” kata sumber itu.

“Selain itu, siasatan juga menjurus kepada kesalahan salah guna kuasa yang mungkin berlaku di kalangan Ahli-ahli Lembaga Pengarah yang terlibat dalam membuat keputusan dalam pemilihan syarikat-syarikat berkepentingan.
