Jamaican sprinter Andrew Hudson has incredibly qualified for the men’s 200 metre final after he was involved in a buggy crash which sent shards of glass flying into his eye.

Two buggies carrying athletes including Hudson to the track in Budapest crashed and he needed about 20 minutes of medical attention.

The men’s 200 metre semi final was delayed by 24 minutes and the 26-year-old still couldn’t see out of his right eye but decided to run despite his blurry vision."The race was a blur. My eyesight is a blur. I'm going to go make sure my eyesight is OK." Andrew Hudson ran in the Men's 200m Semi-Final with blurred vision. Picture: David Ramos/Getty Images

Hudson finished fifth with a time of 20.38 seconds which was not enough to qualify for the final but World Athletics decided to promote him as the ninth runner when the Jamaican team appealed.“He tried to flush out as best as possible. World Athletics asked me if I was going to run or not. It was kind of, run or lose my spot.

So this just happened at the Athletics World Championships in Budapest. The cart carrying Noah Lyles, Andrew Hudson and Luxolo Adams, among others, was involved in an accident on the way to the track. Look both ways man!😱
