With five days to go until the highly-anticipated World Cup documentary ‘Chasing The Sun 2’ premieres, a new trailer — in which Jacques Nienaber makes a stunning admission — has dropped.
‘Chasing the Sun 2′, a documentary unpacking the Springboks’ successful 2024 Rugby World Cup campaign, will premiere on Sunday, 24 March.Earlier this year, SuperSport announced that a sequel of the documentary will be released following South Africa’s 2023 Rugby World Cup triumph in France.
Chasing The Sun 2 will tell the tale of how the Springboks went on to clinch the Webb Ellis Cup for a record-breaking fourth time in history, making them just the second Test team ever to win back-to-back titles. In one of the latest trailers released, former Springboks coach Jacques Nienaber reveals that ‘the Springboks shouldn’t have been in the World Cup final’, because of the unique life challenges many of them faced.
He goes on to explain that his charges overcame the curveballs life three at them and defied the odds stacked against them to clinch a second successive Rugby World Cup title. 🗣️ "If you look at the scripts life handed these players, they shouldn't have been in a World Cup final."
