The Springboks vs France Rugby World Cup quarter-final was a brutal, yet high-quality game. The Springboks also showed how much they have matured as a team.

Although this was a victory by only one point, it was still a knockout victory. A victory against a highly rated France team, hosting the tournament and supported by a stadium full of their own fans. Some call it a risky move that could have backfired. It didn’t. It is difficult to think of any previous Springbok coaches who were this willing to take this kind of risk vs reward approach. The French were running everything at the Springboks. Instead of kicking the ball downfield to have the French continue to attack, the scrum slowed the game down enough to compose themselves to get back into the game.
Their physical conditioning serves them well during games. After a proper recovery, they are able to refill the tanks for the next challenge.
