KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened lower against the US dollar in early trade as the greenback strengthened, supported by improvements in the US labour market and a robust economy, an analyst said.

The road to the school has been accessible only by heavy vehicles since Sunday due to flooding caused by the swelling of the Rajang River after two days of heavy rain. Separately, the State Fire and Rescue Department reported that its Kanowit station rescued a family whose car was stranded in the flood on Jalan Lukut-Penyulau, Kanowit.

MARA to Assist Flood-Affected Borrowers, Tenants; Second Chance Offered to Non-SPM TakersThe Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) through its agency, Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), will extend support to flood-affected borrowers and tenants of MARA premises, including by rescheduling loan payments.
