Published: Nov. 01, 2023, 8:19 a.m.On Oct. 18, police observed a speeding gray SUV traveling 52 mph in a 35-mph-zone westbound on Royalton Road.Not only was the driver nervous but there was a gun sitting on the passenger seat.
During a search of the SUV, the officer confiscated the gun, which was loaded with eight bullets in the magazine. Next the driver failed a field sobriety test. He was arrested for drunken driving and cited for improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle and speeding.On Oct. 16, police were dispatched to an Avery Road house after its homeowner discovered they were the victim of identity theft.The man didn’t learn of the crime until opening a piece of mail that was a bill for nearly $5,000 with his name and a previous address.
