The Spanish Football Federation has called on President Luis Rubiales to resign in the wake of the controversial Women’s World Cup final kiss in Sydney. In a statement, a Spanish FA spokesperson said: “after the unacceptable behaviours that seriously damaged the image of Spanish football, Mr Rubiales is asked to immediately present his resignation as president”. It comes as Spanish prosecutors open pre-trial inquiries into Mr Rubiales' conduct after he was suspended by FIFA.
