: The National Water Services Commission , together with Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd , will empty the septic tanks on Pulau Perhentian in Kuala Besut to deal with pollution problems that may be caused by sewage waste on the resort island.

“The survey also found that the premises that use septic tanks on Pulau Perhentian Besar and Pulau Perhentian Kecil had never emptied their septic tanks or treated the wastewater before it was released to the sea,” he said in a statement today. “The cost of carrying out desludging works on small islands is huge because of their locations, which do not have modern facilities to treat sewage.
