It's not everyday that you get to exchange vows with the love of your life, so why not have them in space? | via philstarlife
Space Perspective, a space travel company in Florida, is offering a chance for pairs to hold their grand wedding at the edge of space—just “above 99% of the Earth’s atmosphere.”, guests will get to delight in the “quintessential astronaut experience” with two hours to see the Earth’s curve, its total blackness, and the atmosphere. “Whatever the occasion for your voyage, these moments in space will become indelible memories,” the firm said.
Instead of a rocket, it would make use of Spaceship Neptune—a pressurized capsule powered by a “SpaceBalloon,” which would make it “climb slowly and smoothly.” The ascent and descent period would take a total of six hours, giving you and your partner enough time to exchange “I do’s” and even celebrate the occasion with your nearest and dearest at the Space Lounge equipped with “360-degree visibility through the largest windows ever flown to space.
Of course, the experience comes with a whopping $125,000 price tag per head. But it’s absolutely worth every penny as the experience is “highly customizable.” “From the menu and cocktails onboard, to the soundtrack and lighting, your individual preferences may be incorporated into your flight. For explorers who reserve a full capsule, the modular design of the space lounge can accommodate changes to seating configurations and incorporate additional hospitality features, like tables for a unique dining service,” it said. Space Perspective is looking to officially launch the project in 2024. It has sold over a thousand tickets.
