South Korean actress Kim Min-hee with South Korean director Hong Sang-soo at the 77th Locarno International Film Festival on Aug 17.– South Korean actress Kim Min-hee received the best performance award on Aug 17 at the 77th Locarno International Film Festival for her role in director Hong Sang-soo’s 32nd film, By The Stream.

“I’m really in love with your films, director Hong. Thank you for making this beautiful film. Thank you for allowing me to work with you,” she said in her acceptance speech during the awards ceremony held in Locarno, Switzerland. It is the fourth time auteur Hong was invited to the film festival, Switzerland’s largest film event, following Our Sunhee , Right Now, Wrong Then and Hotel By The River . All three works won awards.

The 2024 edition, which began on Aug 7, featured 225 films, including 104 world premieres and 15 debut movies.
