Saturday’s Washington Township High School Football & Marching Band Spring Carnival was canceled after several fights broke out and multiple arrests were made, officials said. Large crowds overcame the annual parade, which began Tuesday and was slated to have its last day Saturday, comprised largely of people from other towns, Washington Township Police Chief Patrick Gurcsik said in a statement.
One officer was assaulted and injured, although the severity of the wounds was unclear. Three arrests were made, but no specifics were provided by Gurcsik. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
