The South East chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has addressed a letter to President Bola Tinubu concerning recent appointments made in the newly established South East Development Commission, SEDC. The letter, signed by Dr.
Ijeomah Arodiogbu, APC National Vice Chairman, South East , expressed gratitude to the President for the developmental efforts directed towards the South East , including the approval of the SEDC . However, the South East APC , in the letter, voiced concerns regarding the composition of the Commission's board and management, stating that the appointments did not align with the Act that established the Commission.
Additionally, some House of Representatives members have alleged that the Deputy Speaker has ulterior motives by placing five of his staff in a single organization. Speaking anonymously for other members, one lawmaker remarked that the Deputy Speaker disregarded the collective advice of his colleagues and the party, which had aimed for an equitable distribution of positions among the five South East states, in accordance with the Commission's Act.
