Latricia Trammell is expected to be the next head coach of the Dallas Wings, sources told MAVoepel on Tuesday. The news was first reported by The Next.
Trammell coached NAIA women's college basketball powerhouse Oklahoma City, where she won two national championships, before moving to the WNBA. She also has been an assistant at the Division I and NAIA levels, as well as a head coach in Division II and high school.
Trammell will be the Wings' fifth coach since 2018. Fred Williams was let go late in that season, and former WNBA player Taj McWilliams-Franklin finished 2018 as interim coach. Brian Agler, who had won WNBA championships in Seattle and Los Angeles, coached the Wings in 2019 and 2020, when the Wings went 18-38 and didn't make the playoffs.
