The Sony RX10 V is a premium bridge camera with a fixed 24-600mm lens, AI autofocus, and 4K/120fps video. Priced at RM8,999, it aims to replace an entire lens kit for photographers who value convenience and versatility.
Sony has launched the RX10 V, a high-end bridge camera priced at RM8,999, featuring a fixed 24-600mm ZEISS zoom lens. The camera is designed for users who want a single, versatile lens without the need to carry multiple pieces of equipment.
It includes AI-powered Real-time Recognition autofocus, which can automatically detect and track subjects such as people, animals, and vehicles. For video, it offers 4K recording at 120 frames per second and an Auto Framing feature to keep subjects centered. Pre-orders come with a free NP-FZ100 spare battery and a PGYTECH OneGo Lite Backpack 22L, together worth RM988.
The RX10 V competes with the Nikon Coolpix P1100, which offers a longer 3000mm zoom but has a smaller sensor and slower autofocus, and the Sony a6700 paired with a Tamron 18-300mm lens, which provides better low-light performance but requires carrying separate gear. The RX10 V targets travelers, wildlife enthusiasts, and content creators seeking a convenient all-in-one solution. While the launch price is high, future price drops or sales may make it more affordable over time
