After SonicTheHedeghog suffers an injury in the latest issue of his IDWPublishing comic series, his sidekick Tails will have to step up and protect his friends.
Except for the time he almost became a robotic zombie, never before has Sonic the Hedgehog sustained as crippling an injury as he does in the latest issue of his comic series, and it's going to force Tails into the role of hero if nothing drastic prevents this from happening.
Much earlier in IDW's Sonic the Hedgehog series, Sonic got infected by Dr. Eggman's out-of-control Metal Virus that could turn living creatures into robotic zombies, or as the Blue Blur called them, Zombots. The virus might have made the hedgehog feel"nasty," but all Sonic had to do was keep moving at high speeds to keep himself from mutating into a Zombot.
With Sonic unable to utilize his speed, the responsibility of not only getting out of the Eggperial City but also fighting anyone who's in their way will fall upon his companions. Unfortunately for Sonic and Tails, recent chapters have proven that Belle the Tinkerer is unfit for combat, a failure she's admitted herself.
Even though there has been speculation that Kit might join Tails and his friends, the look on the cyborg's face when he awakens doesn't seem to support this theory, which means that Tails will have his hands full in the coming issue. Metal Sonic won't fight Belle and will likely focus on Tails instead because his living counterpart is immobilized. This will undoubtedly be Tails' biggest moment in IDW's series, and that's saying something.
