Cagayan de Oro Rep. Rufus Rodriguez is urging the Supreme Court to seriously consider the holding of the annual bar examination in Manila, Cebu City, and Cagayan de Oro City simultaneously.
He noted that, as early as 2010, many schools in the Visayas and Mindanao already requested the Supreme Court to also hold bar examinations in regional centers like Cebu and Cagayan de Oro City.
Rodriguez, chairman of the House Committee on Constitutional Amendments, filed House Resolution 215 in response to calls of various law schools in the Visayas and Mindanao to decentralize the bar exams, and have the exams held simultaneously in Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao. He recalled that on November 19, 2013, the High Court issued a resolution and immediately made an action to study the matter.
