Socso told to find ways to provide freelancers with safety net

THE Human Resources Ministry has directed the Social Security Organisation to find ways to protect freelancers in the event of unfavourable conditions. Minister M. Saravanan said flexible employment, such as online businesses and food delivery, has become a trend, especially among the younger generation, in today’s gig economy.
