A new fan poster for director Zack Snyder’s Justice League pays homage to Paul Dini and Alex Ross’ comics, The World’s Greatest Superheroes.
A new fan poster for director Zack Snyder's Justice League pays homage to some iconic DC comic cover art. Thanks to the visual style and aesthetic of films like 300 and Watchmen , Snyder made a name for himself, bringing graphic novels to life even before the DC Extended Universe. After the warm reception of Man of Steel , Snyder was positioned as the visionary who would spearhead the DCEU or, rather, the SnyderVerse.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was reportedly hampered by studio interference before being critically panned. In 2017, Snyder was forced to leave Justice League's production following a family tragedy. This resulted in the release of what is known by fans as"Josstice League" and those infamous stories of a troubled production under the guidance of Joss Whedon.
Following the release of Snyder's Justice League, The Snyder Cut movement evolved into #RestoreTheSnyderVerse, which has only been exacerbated by the plans for Justice League sequels and Wayne Carr's John Stewart/Green Lantern being revealed. As #RestoreTheSnyderVerse trends amid the first anniversary of Snyder's Justice League, the above art is a great way to pay homage to both the SnyderVerse and the comics that inspired it. Unfortunately, Warner Bros.
While fans may never see the sequels to Snyder's Justice League, the SnyderVerse will live on with Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, and Ezra Miller—who were all cast by Snyder. On top of that, Ben Affleck is set to return as the Caped Crusader in the upcoming The Flash. Even if that multiversal romp shelves the SnyderVerse timeline, the creative battles endured by Snyder during his time with WB/DC Films have seemingly paved the way for change.
