Shrinking and warming of Antarctic deep ocean waters has 'far reaching consequences' for globalclimate NatureClimate
) to valid our interpretation on the estimated sea-ice formation. CDR and AMSR-E are cross-paired with Pathfinder and Kimura drift to address the bias between sea-ice drift products. We found that the choice of sea-ice drift products does not qualitatively change the observed interannual variability in sea-ice budget terms.
In each sea-ice concentration and sea-ice drift pair, sea-ice concentration data are first binned into the sea-ice drift grid to compute the sea-ice advection and divergence terms,The sea-ice concentration tendency,, fields from the day before and day after. The advection and divergence,, are computed as a central difference in space and then averaged over the same three-day period to obtain a consistent time stamp, wherestands for the sea-ice drift vector.
