The coziest ever.
Made as directed... this recipe is awful. As one reviewer suggested I added more ginger. If you dont add a ton of spices and more fruit, this is a waste of time. Please see the review from the Lexington Cook below for improvements. I'm giving this 4 stars with the changes I made. If you make the recipe as is, it will be very overcooked and bland. I used 1.5 cups groats , 1 cup regular oats, 1/2 cup brown rice and 1/2 cup quinoa. Any combination of grains should work.
Also used the prescribed amount of ginger . I don't think dry ginger would have the same effect. So I combined all of the ingredients except the fruit and cooked on low for 2.5 hours. Then I added the apples and one more cup of water and continued to cook for another 30-45 minutes. I would not suggest cooking this recipe more than 4 hours, otherwise I think it would be mush. If I had raisins I would have added at the end.
