Slovenia men's basketball head coach Aleksander Sekulic could not help but rave about Luka Doncic's dedication to winning even in a classification match in the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Sekulic said that superstars like Doncic can easily skipped games like classification ones but he said that Doncic is different, that he wanted to win.'Don't forget the fact that we played two games which basically don't mean a lot. If you play for fifth or seventh-place. But for him, it meant a lot. So, it shows greatness and love for his country and for basketball. Not for him, but for all the players,' said Sekulic.
The 24-year-old Dallas Mavericks superstarpoured 29 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists to power Slovenia to an 89-85 triumph over Italy.His scoring output enabled him to join 10 other players who scored at least 200 points in a single World Cup run. Some of the players who made the elite list were Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki, and Luis Scola.Sekulic shared that Doncic's unwavering will to win is the perfect model for younger players to emulate.
