HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- A 12-year-old boy is recovering from serious wounds after he was hit by a stray bullet while he was sleeping during a shootout that occurred at a nearby club in northwest Harris County, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.
The children's mother spoke exclusively to ABC13. She said she heard the shots and realized her son had been hit in the groin area. According to the sheriff, when deputies arrived, they found the 12-year-old with a gunshot wound. At last check, he was listed in fair condition, but his wounds are serious.
